Mikael Larsson takes 5th at Sugo

Posted 2010-10-16 by Theo de Bruin

Long time BFR driver Mikael Larsson scored a 5th position in the Simracing Team Challenge race on Sugo last thursday. The fast Swede is in great form lately and managed to qualify in the top 10 for the 4th race of this years Black Cup.

Despite struggling to find a good rythm Mikael kept out of trouble and made two good pitstops. Towards the end of the race Larsson was in 5th position chased by Yuri Braham of Flying Dutchman Racing:

"A few laps to go and Yuri was closing in fast but I really wanted that 5th! Made a small mistake and he passed but he made a mistake himself at the same lap and I was up to 5th again! Now I was going really easy and defensive not giving him any room to pass."

The other BFR driver, Konrad Stanczak, was not as succesful. An early crash beyond his fault had him pitting early and Konrad lost a lot of positions. After 47 laps the engine of the BFR Doran blew up.

The race was won by RPMs Marcin Skrzypczak, followed by Kevin Clark of FOR. Black Rebel Gregory Degreef took the last spot of the Sugo podium.

First points in STC

Posted 2010-09-20 by Theo de Bruin

Blue Flag Racing`s Theo de Bruin scored the first points for BFR in the opening race of the STC Black Cup 2010 on Spa. After a very tough race with changing weather conditions on the legendary circuit in the Belgian Ardennes Theo had to retire 8 minutes before the end of the 90 minute race. This still classified Theo as 20th and thus scored 7 points. Because of technical difficulties there was only one BFR Doran entered into the race.

The race was won by Mikko Korkiakosky of Flatout Racing, Richard Hellsten of Torrent Motorsports came 2nd and the podium was completed by Peter Duivelaar of the Roaring Pipes Maniacs.

Next race will be on september 23rd on the Le Mans circuit. Krzysztof Babij and Eckhart von Glan will be representing BFR in this race.
